Buddy Rush: November 2012 Comedy Screenies

I am going to start November's comedy screenies in October. It is already late in the month and I do not expect many screenshots.

The previous collection can be found here.
---

Latest in the collection of Stunned Battlefields! With the amount of pounding the battlefield takes, no surprise that it gets Stunned.
SD-91 has glowy tail.
Loot from the treasure chest dropped during battle with SD-91:
Another purple I cannot use.

Update 3 November 2012:
"Wolfgang, stop being so friendly!"
Worrier tries to hammer SD-91's back!
SD-91 tries to eat Worrier!
Update 14 November 2012:
Not really a funny screenie but recently, I took a look at this item. Look at the stats! I should try using this in a Raid.
And it is just the green version.
Update 23 November 2012:
I noticed today that characters have star ratings in the character creation screen.
Healury has only 1 star for Attack!?
Update 26 November 2012:
SD-91 tries to distract with loot.
Another purple I cannot use.

Buddy Rush: Mini-wave of October 2012

Today, there is a new Mini-wave. Officially, it is called the Mini-wave of 30 October 2012. I am going to label it 1.7.2.

The important changes are in the revision of the Raids. All the raids before Genzir the Storm has their level requirements reduced. Genzir has been moved all the way from 65 to 20. As such, many of the articles on Raids and Set Items from Raids may be obsolete.

There is a new Raid, SD-91, which according to the notes is available at Diamond Level 5. The raid is against an Eastern-style Mecha Betty in a Western theme. SD-91 is at least as tough as Genzir the Storm (after the Eighth Wave), so be prepared.
The Defense up is for us, not SD-91.
Character attacks have been changed. Most important of all is that Botherella's skull now glows with magic, as seen in the screenshot above.

Another change in character attacks is that the basic attack animations have been sped up so buddies now attack way faster. This will make passive skills that activate on hit and Stuns a lot more powerful. Silver-eyed Bullseye will rule missions while Ready Nagne will spam skills on everything, right until he runs out of MP.
Burning Worrier dive attacks SD-91!
And of course there is the great loot from beating SD-91:
I beat SD-91. What do I get?

Update 31 October 2012:
Purple gem items looted from treasure chests and Arena now have sale values in bugs. Big sale values!
It's still priceless!

The Grinns Tale: Veteran Mountain Guard Set (0.6.10)

I just completed my second Rank 5 set today, the Veteran Mountain Guard Set for the Knight. Strangely the set name is not an alliteration.
Veteran Mountain Guard Set (0.6.10)
The Veteran Mountain Guard Set has an extra point in Speed and a little more Health, in addition to the extra stats of the Refined items.

I am running out of the low-level crafting material to attempt completing the other Refined sets. Going to have to hunt (beat up people) for more.

Wartune: Claristun's Roaming Summoner

Another Wartune post.

In the multiplayer dungeon Claristun, there is a Roaming Summoner that summons a special boss for two Skeleton Keys. This fight is special because it depends more on wit than character advancement. It is a fight against the players' double.

Since it was a tough fight, I took a screenshot of the victory. That is me and my guildmates down there.
Victory against ourselves!
It was fun to figure out ways to beat ourselves. No, I am not posting the solutions (there are more than one) here - it is more fun to figure it out yourself.

Then we went and did it again. I took a second screenshot but since it had serious clues to one of the solutions, I decided not to post it here. :p

Wartune: Wheel of Fate

I looted the Wheel of Fate in Wartune today. I found it in a treasure chest in level 20 of the Forgotten Catacombs.
Wheel of Fate +3
I get the feeling that it is a rare item. I can tell from all the 'lucky bastard' comments that appeared on World Chat when the System announced that I looted the item.

I had it Enchanted to +3 before I thought of taking a screenshot.

The Grinns Tale: Silent Shadower Set (0.6.10)

Look at the Update number! To think it was only 0.6.7 last week! They do update the game often.

Anyway, the Silent Shadower Set is the first Rank 5 Refined Set that I have completed.
Silent Shadower Set (0.6.10)
The Silent Shadower Set has an extra point in Speed, in addition to the individual extra stats of each of the Refined items.

Actually, I expected to complete the Veteran Mountain Guard Set for the Knight first since the required crafting materials were easier to collect. The Silent Shadower Set requires Shiny Rubies. In addition to that, it requires Celestial Kettles, which seems to be harder to loot than Spirit Lamps.

'Seems to be', since Celestial Kettles are required in greater numbers than Spirit Lamps (the latter not required for the Silent Shadower Set).

Don't be distracted by the Rogue Turbans. Those were from the Grinnfinite dungeon and are so far less impressive than the Silent Shadower Set.

The Grinns Tale: Contents

I have written enough articles on The Grinns Tale to warrant a contents page so here it is. Note that Updates for the game are applied frequently so the articles may get obsolete fast.

The Grinns Tale is published by Nexon Korea Corporation, the same company who brought Cloudstone and Maple Story and many other online games. The Grinns Tale is about developing a town to support a party of adventurers who then beat up baddies for resources to craft equipment.

The Grinns Tale is available on both Facebook and Kongregate.

Buddy Rush: October 2012 Attendance Reward

The 20-day attendance reward for October is a Pharaoh doll.

The Pharaoh doll is an accessory that gives Att+2%.
Not many words.
Guess there is not much to say.

The Grinns Tale: Masked Magician (0.6.7)

On 16 to 17 of October 2012, it is possible to craft the Skull Mask. With the mask, it is possible to complete the Masked Magician Set. I wonder if this is a reference to the Masked Magician.
Masked Magician Set
The Masked Magician Set is an improvement over the regular Magician Set with an additional 3 Attack.
Magician Set (not refined)
After the period is over, the Skull Mask has to be purchased with Pramins.

Aside from that, I have completed the Mature Maskman Set. The following screenshot is from Update 0.6.6.

Note that the Mature Marksman Set has First Attack II.

Ultimate Collector Screenies 3

More screenies from Ultimate Collector.

First, V must have been really uncomfortable for the duration of the movie.
Mask was uncomfortable.
I am pretty amazed with the repairing skills of my character in the game. First off, restoring a Piscasso does not seem to be a problem.
Fixing the Picasso.
Apparently, Dark Magic can be fixed too.
Sword of Gryffindor is Dark Magic!?
It can be fixed in a little ritual requiring a few Stitichings, some Lubricant and some Finish.
Materials to remove Dark Magic.
Oh, and apparently, the Golden Snitch is Cursed. Got to fix that before the next game.
Golden Snitch needs fixing too.
And it can be fixed with a little Lubricant and a little Cleanser!? The curse can probably be washed off that easily.
Material to clean the curse.
I have no idea how being through a wormhole will effect the quality of an item...
C3PO Figurine has been in weird places.
... but apparently, that too can be fixed. Again, Lubricant is on the list.
Material to fix damage caused by wormhole.
Finally, the poster of a One-Star movie.
One Star Movie.
That too can be fixed by stitching up a few more stars. Somehow.
Materials to fix One-Star Movie.
I am surprised that duct tape is not required to fix any of these.

The Grinns Tale: All Refined

The All Refined achievement in The Grinns Tale requires all heroes to be equipped with Refined Sets.

This is actually easier that it sounds.
All Refined Achievement!
To complete the achievement, simply equip Refined Sets on each hero. The type of Set is not considered. So gather Refined Sets that are easy to complete, typically those of low rank.

For example, the Deadly Dreadnaught Set is easily made with cheap and readily available materials. The Faithful Friar Set only requires two Refined item and a hair equip. It is the same with the Madder Scientist Set.

Buddy Rush: Chapter 13 Easter Egg

In Chapter 13, there is a hidden Easter Egg.

The following screenshot is taken close to the location.
Near the Easter Egg.
Happy searching for it!

Or if you are too lazy, you can just look for the spoiler on Youtube.

Update 25 October 2012:
Despite the similarity of the maps, the Easter Egg is not present in the Prologue.

That should be enough clues to find the Easter Egg. :)

Ultimate Collector Screenies 2

Look, more screenies from Ultimate Collector!

In the Quest log, the text under the Hint button is not always a 'hint'. Sometimes, there may be more background information, like in the following:
More background information under Hint.
Or it could be some lazy excuse. :p
What's under Hint.
Since Victoria, the giver of that Quest, appears to work alone, I think the 'team' mentioned refers to the game developer.

Also, I assembled a collection of Hot Wheels Sweet 16:
Hot Wheels Sweet 16 Collection.
I checked my collection against the list found on Wikipedia. They do not match. Looking closely at my collection, I found several pairs of cars of the same make but different paintwork. Reading more of the Wikipedia entry, it seems that there were several paintwork available to the cars. Guess there are more than 16 cars in the Sweet 16.

Ironically, when I was young, I was a fan of Matchbox rather than Hot Wheels. (Corgi? What's that?)
Too bad it's not this easy to make money in real life.
Repair parts are used in the game to make repairs to collectibles in order to raise (restore) their value. One source of repair parts are the trinket boxes found in neighborhood sales. However, these boxes give random parts. To address specific shortages of repair parts, it is possible to get help from neighbors.

That means daily checks on the repair parts inventory.
Repair Parts Inventory.
I found another Harry Porter artifact with defective magic. I am beginning to have suspicions.
Defective magic again.
And I found a 'cute-looking' game:
Lineage 2 is 'cute-looking'!?
