Wasted Youth Part 1 (An Adventure Game)

Running in the hallway.
Wasted Youth Part 1 by GP Studios is an adventure game I found over on Kongregate. It is a game about a character who is sent to a boarding school for 'special' students. The game is about life in that school as the character attends classes and interacts with other students and teachers. However, the content is funny, with weird people doing crazy things for ridiculous reasons. The difficulty is casual, with a lot of freedom given to the player.

I could not hide the cursor in the screenshot, so here is a mini-game within this article - try to spot the cursor in each screenshot. Of course, first you would need to figure out what the cursor looks like. Once that is done, the game should be easy. The spot-the-cursor game, that is.

The first day of the game is a tutorial to introduce the game's features. It is recommended that the player finish the first day and learn how to Save the Game.

The player has lots of freedom to roam around the school. He/she is free to explore the place and do things, such as attending classes. Unlike real-life schools, classes are optional. But who would skip class and miss all the funnies.
The class gets weirder after this.
Well, one reason to skip classes is the possibly long run to the main character's locker to select a class. Unlike real life schools, the player can choose the lesson he/she wishes to attend and the time too. Once selected, the teacher and students are all gathered for class. The school does revolve around the player. :p
Choosing the class to attend.
The player can do stuff that they always wished they could in real-life school. Like talking with an attractive member of the opposite sex. Or going into the changing room of the opposite sex.
How many of you dreamed of doing this?
Part of the fun of this game is exploring. There are many rooms to search and people to talk to. One reason for exploration are the funny references and dialogs to discover. The other is to collect Piggymon cards. For fun, and to complete achievements (see later).
I found a card!
The player's life in school is not completely aimless. There are missions, main and side, to perform to advance the story and find more funnies. Most missions are simple. In fact, the game is hardly challenging difficulty-wise.
The To-Do list.
And for more things to do, there are achievements to complete. Achievements boost the player's real-life ego. So collecting them is recommended.
Figuring out how to get some achievements is the hard part.
But for players who do not care much about ego, achievements also unlock in-game rewards. The most important of which is the "Double Speed" option. Otherwise, the main character will move slowly. And a lot of the game involves moving around. In fact, it is recommended that the player starts collecting achievements quick and get the "Double Speed" unlocked before he/she quits because of impatience.
The important "Double Speed" option.
Wasted Youth Part 1 is not too difficult to complete, just that lots of time is required. But it is a fun time of freedom confined to a boarding school. It reflects school life, but with absurdity and amusement.

If the game is too difficult, there is a walkthrough (link available in the game).

Part 2 should be coming along soon, so keep an eye on the developer.
One more screenshot!
