Adventure Story (platformer)

Adventure Story is a platformer by kupo707. Normally, I do not like platformers because of the insta-kill fall-of-doom. However, bottomless drops in this game do not kill the hero instantly. Plus, it is made with the Epic Battle Fantasy IP and features music by Halcyonic Falcon X.

As for the story, Lance has taken girl-whose-name-I-cannot-remember and thus, Matt goes off on an adventure to rescue her. In each level, Matt travels through to reach NoLegs the cat at the end. Along the way, Matt can explore side paths and optional sub-levels to gather coins and open treasure chests.
It's hard to take a screenie with action in it.
As with most platform games, there is a fair bit of exploration involved. In each level, there are 100 coins and 10 treasure chests to find - incentive to search every corner of the level.

Oh yes, there are baddies in the game. The hero can defeat them with weapon slashes and magic spells. Weapon slashes are just the standard push-key-to-attack thing. Magic, on the other hand, requires selecting a spell from the spell menu and selecting the target (if necessary). Or the player can set hot keys for the spells.

In addition to the normal levels, there are levels with boss characters in them for a more action-packed experience. Heroic music included!

Pro tip: Master the pogo-stick technique. Slashing while jumping over a baddie thrusts Matt upwards. So essentially, Matt can keep bouncing off the heads of baddies. This technique is useful to move past baddies without getting hit.
It's a dress-up game!
Hidden in certain treasure chests are equipment that Matt can equip. Equipment modifies the hero's stats and may give special abilities like faster weapon slashes. In addition to that, spells may be bought/upgraded with the coins found in the levels. There are enough coins total to upgrade all spells to their maximum levels.
As it says: Medals boost Self-Esteem!
Of course there are Medals in the game, awarded for fulfilling achievement. Medals in games are essential for the player's self-esteem.
This is what happens when I try to take an action screenie.
In summary, Adventure Story is a platform game with action and exploration. It has beautiful graphics (did I forget to mention that?) even in low quality and great music. There is action, which can get pretty intense in boss battles. My fingers hurt after playing with bosses.
Patiently waiting for the boss to wake up and play.
