Crusaders of the Lost Idols: Natalie Dragon

I do not usually like idle games because of all the time spent waiting with nothing to do. However, I am hoping that Crusaders of the Lost Idols will be different. I have only played for a little over nine days so it is way too early to tell if I will like this game in the long run.

The main difference that Crusaders of the Lost Idols have compared to other idle games is the formation system. The player may recruit certain fixed Crusaders and arrange them in a formation. The position of the heroes will determine the amount of DPS (Damage per second) that determines how far the player may go. In addition, there are more Crusaders than there is space in the formation.

And here is the interesting part:
There is no best formation or arrangement of Crusaders.

For example, originally, I had intended to use Nate Dragon and Merci, the Mad Wizard - the last two Crusaders - as powerhouses. All the other Crusaders were selected to boost gold accumulation and to buff these two Crusaders. While carrying out my plan, I discovered that Natalie Dragon does way more damage than these two.
Natalie has Rare Handwraps
It was probably because of the Rare Equipment that I had looted for Natalie. In addition, I had yet to invest in enough levels in Nate and Merci. These two Crusaders may each outperform Natalie later, which means that I shall have to change the formation another time.

However, looting new equipment may change the situation yet again. In addition, the developers may introduce new base formations (and change the formulas used in the game - please don't hate them!). Because of these reasons, I shall have to keep experimenting to find the best (current) formation.

Nine days are too early to tell if this system will be enough to keep me interested in the game in the long run. I hope that it will.
