Driving Lesson ready for publishing

The second story in the Wasteland Vixens series, Driving Lesson is ready for publishing.

So for this week and the next, the blog will be filled with pages of the story. Unless something happens to upset the schedule. Like a grammar mistake.

For those of you who are just here for the games, take a look at the games page.

The first story, The Tower of Trials, can be found here.

The Tower of Trials ready for publishing

The Tower of Trials story is about to be published here.

This means that the blog is going to be filled with pages of the story. However, the story is going to be a short one and should end by the the end of next week. That is, unless something happens. Like a grammar mistake (Eek!).

For those of you who are here just for the games, look in the games page for links to posts about games.

Taking a break

I'm taking a short break off everything at the moment. Well, that means I do the minimum of what I need to do for my daily tasks (since I still like the free chips from Buddy Rush).

Anyway, I picked up Trinity Universe and I wished I bought that instead of Cross Edge some time ago. Mine you, Cross Edge was not that bad of a game. It really was fun to figure out and implement the battle system and also to fiddle with the item system(s). However, the amount of grinding required to get the next in-game reward is insane. Trinity Universe may end up to be the same later but it's fun for now.

Yes, Trinity Universe does have a nice complicated battle system to figure out too. This time, it involves a lot of memory work to recall what moves are available in battle, during which, there is usually a timer counting down.

There'll be more writing to do later. Plus, Buddy Rush's next wave is coming and I have to decide if I'd like to train up yet another new character. I'm already bored of the lack of purples from raids at the moment. And Nerdook is still working on his RPG. Hopefully it will be one worthy of my recommendation.

Ah, the long long story is finally, finally done.

Handful of Sand has finally been published.

Now I can sit back and relax a little and play lots of games...
after I do some final checks on the blog.

Handful of Sand ready for publishing

Handful of Sand is finally ready for publishing.

This means that the blog is soon to be flooded with pages of the story. For those of you who are just here for the games, I have added a games page from where you can look for articles of your interest.

The Fourth Wave hits on Buddy Rush

The Fourth Wave (Update 1.3) just hit without warning on Buddy Rush. Well, I expected it to take another month or so.

And uh, it's right in my busy period so it's going to be some time before I can post updates.

There's a lot of information to process. There are new raid modes. The skills system has been rearranged - there are now three active skills and four passives with a level cap of 20 each. There is a new chapter. There are new raid bosses. And the stats for many items have been changed.

A lot of information on this blog is now outdated and it's going to take me a lot of time to sort them out.

Oh, and the fifth day reward now gives a chip instead of the Golden Potion. I think this is in addition to the mystery gift.

Update 19 June 2011:
Having trouble checking out the new stuff with the connection problems on Facebook. I'm going to use that excuse to catch up on other work.

Handful of Sand is in Beta

The next Fernham High story is going to be Handful of Sand, which has just entered Beta.

Yeah, I do my writing the same way I write programs. Computers can be very strict with grammar. Anyway, Beta means that the story is basically complete. I just need to run tests to make sure that there are no bugs and that all the features are working fine. Translated to writing, that means looking for grammar mistakes and making sure that the text has the intended effect.

Handful of Sand is 35% longer than Gloriously Messed-up, which is partly why it took so long to write. The other reason, you can guess easily. I hope to start publishing by the end of next month (June) but who knows what will happen. I could get super-productive and start early.

Or a good game may come along to distract me.

The following is the current version of the story's summary:
After a visit to a fortune teller, Sandy Gould believed that she would be rich one day. But she did not know how or when. While attending high school, she would attempt to make her fortune come true. Some of what she attempted, if not all of them, are not recommended that anyone at home try.
Update 27 June 2011:
Reviewing the story is taking longer than I expected. At this rate, I'd be lucky to start publishing Handful of Sand by the end of July.

Information Overload

Buddy Rush Third Wave (a.k.a. Update 1.2) is here.

There is a lot of new features (and very likely, bugs) and tweaks and it is going to take some time to explore all, let alone write about it. There are a lot of changes to the skills too, so the current skill articles may be obsolete.

I shall take it one step at a time and blog about it bit by bit.

There goes my break time.

Gloriously Messed-up Completed

Gloriously Messed-up is finished and published!

I never dreamed that publishing would involve a lot of work. Even while I was putting up the story on the blog, I was finding things to fix, grammar to correct, facts to check, etc.

Well, it is all done now. And that is the easy part done. I've still got the blog itself to fix. Got to make it look more interesting. I should go look at the other blogs and steal some ideas. :)

I'm currently writing other stories. I'll probably announce one of them soon.
(Disclaimer: 'soon' can be defined as anything between 2 hours and 2 years.)

Christmas Busyness

Christmas season this year is busy!

Got lots of things to do:
Got chores to do, games to play, people to visit, text to read, food to eat, etc.

As such, updates on Gloriously Messed-up will be postponed.
Hope to continue next week!

Publishing Gloriously Messed-up

Publishing appears to involve as much work as the other parts of writing the story.
I spot grammar mistakes, I find little details that need to be added.
I find a certain line is not clear.
I do last minute research.
I look up a new word.
etc, etc, etc.

At the current rate it is going, Gloriously Messed-up will probably be finished some time in January, 2011.

Welcome to the Narration Room.

Uh, things are still being set up here, so there isn't time to put up the Interesting Stuff yet.
Got to figure out how to do things, paint up the place and all that.

Please check back later, maybe around December 2010.
Hopefully, there'll be some Interesting Stuff posted by then!

Thanks for coming!
