Swords & Potions 2: Week of Broken Items

Nothing really fun happening this week. A customer broke the precious Yeti armor:
Argh, the precious Yeti armor!
I reached my 51st login:
No more 100 gold pieces!
Another item gets broken:
She broke the Iron bracers!
More troublesome customers:
"I can't believe you're finally selling something."
I am getting more troublesome customers since I increased my shop appeal, which leads to more customers visiting during the day. More customers mean more demand, making it harder to keep up with stocks.

And a customer broke a Mask of fear:
Argh, the precious Mask of fear!
At least she returned with a Moon stone.

Swords & Potions 2: Week of Bugs

The main problem for me while playing Swords & Potions 2 on the Firefox browser was the display bug. First, there would be minor display errors. Restarting Firefox appeared to fix this. If I ignored those warning signs, the display went crazy like in the screenshot below:
Display goes crazy.
It affected not only the game but Firefox itself, causing grainy display errors on other webpages. If that happens, I'd have to restart the computer to fix it.

The display bug usually appeared after I loaded a certain amount of stuff (or maybe just certain stuff) on Firefox. The bug happened more often lately - it might have something to do with the Flash advertisements on Kongregate where I play Swords & Potions 2. This bug is a major turn-off for me since I'd like to be able to do something else on Firefox while waiting for resources to accumulate.

Oh, and I still had troublesome customers to deal with:
"You actually asked for something in stock, that's a first!"
Another bug, though not as serious as the display bug, that I experienced was that sometimes, after playing for a while, the game did not recognize a superior workstation that I had as a requirement for a recipe requiring an inferior workstation.
Game demands a Sawbench III.
This was what happened:
Game still demands a Sawbench III.
That was despite the fact that I had a superior version of the Sawbench, the Quality Sawbench:
It's being upgraded but it still may be used.
Restarting the game fixed this problem. The game may be restarted in the middle of a day.

Lately, many customers came asking for Guard mail for some reason:
Customer demands Guard mail.
That started after I received the Thieving Fox 2 quest, which had a Guard mail as its requirement. I wonder if there is any relation.
Thieving Fox 2 quest requires a Guard mail.
Unfortunately, I could not produce Guard mail at the time of writing.

Recently, a customer sold me a Yeti armor, which was worth 130k. Lucky! Of course I equipped a customer with it and sent it to the Tower Dungeon:
Customer with Yeti armor and Elemental Talisman.
With the Yeti armor and the Elemental talisman, the chance of getting a Moon stone was 35%.

Unfortunately, the customer returned without the Moon stone:
Only Gems and Acids.
At least she did not break anything.

Buddy Rush: Arena Season 17 Ends

Arena Season 17 ended today. Looks like Arena Season will now end on Thursdays after what happened the last time.

Again, there is no official reward list so here is my unofficial list:
1-100 => Purple profile frame + Accessory (Wings of the Succubus A)
101-200 => Red profile frame + Accessory (Wings of the Succubus B)
201-500 => Blue profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor A)
501-1000 => Green profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor B)
1001-2000 => White profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor C)

My lazy self was awarded Wings of Honor A:
Reward in the Postbox!
Rumor has it that it only takes 15k+ Honor Points to get into the top 100. Seeing that Wings of the Succubus A is not as pretty as, say, Wings of the Phoenix A, I'm too lazy to try for the former.

Update 21 September 2013:
According to Abyssion De Porter Gil's comment below, he had 15.5k Honor Points and was at Rank 82.
***
"Yeah, yeah, I'm lazy."
By the way, I'm in the top 100 with my mighty Honor Point total of 5009:
In the Top 100!

Swords & Potions 2: Week of the Shop Upgrade

Upgrading the shop's floor and walls cost 500k gold:
The cost of upgrading the floor and walls.
Once it is done, customers of maximum-level 5 will no longer visit. I can say 'good-bye' to a lot of unhappy max-level-5 customers:
Unhappy max-level-5 customers.
The background of the shop looks much better after the upgrade:
The shop with Mahogany floor and walls.
Unfortunately, profits did not immediately increase:
10k gold is about how much I make daily.
And that display bug is still around:
Display bug attacks!
Bonus nerd points if you can guess, without using the search engine, what I was reading just before the above screenshot was captured.

I scored a Moon stone:
Looted a Moon stone!
Last week's plan has paid off. And I looted another Moon stone:
Looted another Moon stone.
I still have to deal with troublesome customers after upgrading the floor and walls:
"Really? I'm surprised too!"
And this customer came back from a Dungeon with... see for yourself:
All items, including the precious Soothing herbs, broken!
The good news is that I looted another Moon stone:
Looted a third Moon stone.
I still have not decided what to do with the Moon stones I have been looting.

I finally have my 41st login:
41st login!
I can bid the '50 gold pieces' good-bye. The nasty Daily Gift Roulette gave me '50 gold pieces' on my 40th login.

Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher (interactive fiction)

Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher by Connor Fallon and a few people (watch the in-game credits for a full list) is an interactive fiction. After an accident, Socrates Jones ended up in a philosopher's limbo of some sort and has to debate philosophers in order to define the nature of morality in order to get back to life. Debates are the core gameplay where Socrates examines ideas for more clarification or information and then point out flaws to further the story.

The game was inspired by Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I have not played Phoenix Wright but if it is indeed like Socrates Jones, it will be a fun play.
In battle, I mean, in debate.
Most of the story is told through conversations as Socrates Jones continues on his search to learn what morality is. Many times in conversations does the situation turn funny as Socrates Jones is not a philosopher (unlike his daughter, who studies philosophy). People (including his daughter) take jabs at his ignorance and make fun of his chosen profession.

The fun part is in the debates with philosophers. Socrates asks questions to better understand other philosophers' views and gather ideas that he may later use against them. In the end, Socrates has to show that the conclusion of his opponent is flawed. The conversation can also go funny when Socrates leads the conversation to silly areas. For example, there were situations when Socrates could ask a philosopher to prove what he (Socrates) had just proven to be true. :p

There is a Tutorial at the start of the game to explain the methods of debate and to introduce the in-game tools.
A dramatic critical hit!
The game is a great introduction to a few philosophers of note and their views on morality. It is much easier to understand philosophy in the game compared to the walls of text over in Wikipedia (don't tell me you need a link).

Socrates Jones: Pro Philosopher is a great debate game with its entertaining conversations. It is possible to win debates by guessing. However, it is better to understand the arguments presented and learn some philosophy at the same time.
Nice reference there (play the game to read the full Easter Egg).

Swords & Potions 2: Week of the Elemental talisman

I unlocked the recipe for the Elemental talisman:
Elemental talisman
It requires a Moon Stone. I checked my Quests Book and found that the Moon Stone is a green reward from the Tower Dungeon:
That is the shape of a Moon Stone in the green reward.
My plan is to send a customer into the Tower Dungeon, equipped with an Elemental talisman, to find more Moon Stones. Then I'll figure out what to do with the Moon Stones.

To craft the first Elemental talisman, I used the Moon Stone from the Achievement:
Shiny objects 1 Achievement's reward is a Moon Stone.
Now to equip a suitable customer:
"Go forth, my minion, er, valued customer!"
20% chance to score a Moon Stone is not bad. I am pretty worried about the 10% chance of losing the Elemental talisman, though. Oh, and the 100% chance to get two Acids is a bonus.

Now to wait. Let's see what interesting detail I can find in the Recipe Book:
I need to craft 112 Courier's sandals to unlock a new recipe!?
(Look at the amount of Oil I have in the background of the screenshot! :p)

Looking through my Quests Book, the only place I can get the Golden Silk necessary to craft a Courier's sandals is the Dangerous Fissure:
That looks like a Golden Silk in the green reward.
That means I have to find 112 Golden Silks! That is unless I get the duplicate-item bonus (from the Toolbox and Workstations). Obtaining two items from the duplicate-item does count as two for the purposes of unlocking recipes.

Looking through the wiki, I found that Golden Silk is available as a blue and even a white reward in latter dungeons. That is a relief.

Oh, and I still have to deal with angry customers:
"Wow, I wasn't expecting you to ask for something I have."
The customer who went to the Tower Dungeon returned later:
No Moon Stone...
I should be happy that the Elemental talisman was returned safely.

Buddy Rush: Arena Season 16 Ends

Arena Season 16 ended today, a day late, since the developers wanted to end the Season at the same time as a server maintenance. According to the official app page, the server maintenance is because of 'renewed Facebook policies' and because of that, 'Facebook Credits will no longer be accepted for Chip purchases.'

Anyway, there is no official reward list so here is my unofficial list:
1-100 => Purple profile frame + Accessory (Wings of the Succubus A)
101-200 => Red profile frame + Accessory (Wings of the Succubus B)
201-500 => Blue profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor A)
501-1000 => Green profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor B)
1001-2000 => White profile frame + Accessory (Wings of Honor C)

My lazy self was awarded the Wings of the Succubus B:
Reward in the Postbox!
The stats of the Wings of the Succubus B are:
Wings of the Succubus B
I equipped Botherella with the Wings of the Succubus B:
Botherella is now the Evil Bunny Succubus!
It is getting easier and easier to earn a decent pair of wings in the Arena. I had only played 261 fights this season. Here are my stats less than an hour before maintenance:
Less than an hour before the end of Season 16.
Yeah, it is getting really easy.
Anyway, because of the maintenance, don't forget to turn on the 'Show HP/MP bars' in the options.
Turn on the 'Show HP/MP bars'.
