Handful of Sand Chapter 32 Page 3

The idea was appealing to Sandy. It would be sweet revenge on the girl for not paying her that time in the auditorium dressing room.

"Then, we'll take photos of her and post it all over the Internet," Connie added.

Sandy smiled. Yeah, that would be the perfect revenge. She still remembered her disappointment of not being paid, especially when such a large sum of money had been offered. With Connie's plan, she could get revenge and get paid! However, there was a little concern tugging at the corner of her thoughts. She rubbed her left forefinger with her right thumb as she sorted out the pieces in her mind.

"Wait, how are we going to strip Annie naked?" Sandy asked suddenly.

"Oh, we'll kidnap her, take her to a quiet place, then do it to her."

Sandy's concern became real. And it was not just the idea of kidnapping someone, having suffered it herself twice already, with her life at risk. It would mean leaving home for a significant period of time, during which, she could end up being kidnapped herself instead. And Selina was probably watching her.

After all she had been through, Sandy did not want to risk her life for something as trivial as what Connie was planning. And she had her inheritance to think about. That was worth much, much more money.

"Sorry, Connie, I can't," Sandy decided. She had to force herself to say those words after hearing the amount being offered.

"What? Why not?" Connie asked. Her cheerfulness started to fade. "It'll be fun."

"Yeah, I'm sure it'll be, but, but..." Sandy searched for something, some excuse. Because it would be trouble for her? That would not sound convincing.

"Come on, Sandy. Or do you want more money?"

It took all of Sandy's will to ignore the offer of even more money. "I haven't the time. I've someone at home I'm supposed to be looking after." It was not a very strong excuse but it was the best she could come up with.

"But don't you want revenge on Annie for what she did to you, for not paying you?"

Sandy paused. "I do. I really, really do." She looked up at the redhead. "But I can't. I've chores to do. I can't go out for long."

Never had Sandy wished that she really had that many chores to do. She just did not like lying to the nice generous redhead.

"Well, okay," Connie said, clearly disappointed, "You'll keep this a secret, won't you?"

"Okay," Sandy agreed.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

"Well, okay." Connie took out her handphone from her handbag and glanced at it. "Look, I have to go." She forced on a smile. "Nice talking with you."

"It was nice talking to you too," Sandy said in return.

Connie left after that.

Sandy sat and enjoyed the wind for a few more minutes. Once she had imagined getting her hands on that little girl for not paying her, she thought that she would really enjoy it. Was it too late to offer her assistance to Connie? Oh, but she did not have Connie's handphone number!

The teenager sighed and went home for dinner.

That evening, Momma Lois scolded her for spoiling her appetite. Apparently, one sausage roll and a cup of hot chocolate was enough to put Sandy off dinner.
